The Canadian life insurance provider, Foresters™ has introduced Everyday Money, an added benefit for their current members. Everyday Money is a toll-free confidential financial helpline that was introduced because of the economic downturn and the effects it is having on families.
Counselors are available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon ET on Saturday, through the toll-free number. The counselors are there strictly for answering financial questions and giving advice. They cannot sell or recommend any financial products, but they are trained to answer a variety of personal financial questions about money management.
Sample of Tools Provided by Everyday Money:
- Personal budget planning
- Dealing with identity theft
- Paying off credit card debt
- Managing home purchases, mortgages, renting, refinancing, foreclosures
- Retirement Planning
- Education Planning

That is a great idea. More financial companies like Foresters should offer this type of service as it is difficult to find reliable information on these topics.
